La Providencia is owned and operated by Max Palacios, a third generation coffee farmer. Max is extremely passionate about coffee production, he believes coffee is the “lifeblood of Huehuetenango,”one of the most sought after coffee growing regions in Guatemala. The region's higher elevation, and cooler temperatures create later harvest periods and tend to yield higher quality coffees. La Providencia is fully washed after pulping and fermenting then dried in the sun and in mechanical dryers.
